How to Get a Perfect Receipt in Elvira's Backyard (5 cm Rule & Gómez the Gnome)
Elvira's Backyard is the centerpiece contract of the One More Lawn Demo. After practicing ignition, blade toggling, and refueling in The Front Yard, open the wooden gate by hand (added in Update 0.9.19) and drive into Elvira's property. Elvira enforces one strict turf standard: the entire lawn must be cut to an exact 5 cm height.
Before flipping the blade switch on the riding mower dashboard, set the right-hand deck height lever to 5 cm. Cutting at 4 cm or lower over-cuts the turf (though you can buy Lawn Fertilizer from Chiquito's pickup truck to regrow patches and re-cut them at 5 cm). Use the handheld String Trimmer along the perimeter fences, around the central stone fountain, and beside the patio trees where the tractor deck cannot reach.
Watch out for Gómez, Elvira's prized ceramic garden gnome standing on the lawn. Running Gómez over with the mower, hitting him hard with the String Trimmer, or dropping him from high up shatters the ceramic and triggers angry personal comments on Elvira's itemized final receipt. Since Update 0.9.20, the cleanest strategy is to walk up to Gómez, pick him up gently by hand, mow the grass patch underneath, and set him back down intact—or buy a replacement gnome from Chiquito's truck before finishing the job.
Full Game Contracts: Rubén's Los Teros Golf Course & Marcela's Island
Launching November 12, 2026, the full version of One More Lawn expands beyond residential yards into large-scale specialty contracts. At Rubén's Los Teros Golf Club, a single blade setting is no longer enough: greens, fairways, and tees each require distinct deck height settings, while sand traps must be groomed on foot with the Bunker & Yard Rake. Between mowing passes, crews can play actual golf holes using the Driver and Putter, fish sunken golf balls out of the water hazard pond, or pull handbrake drifts across the slick wet parking lot.
Marcela's Island tasks your crew with preparing an entire island venue before 120 barefoot wedding guests arrive on Saturday. Because deep lake water immediately drowns the riding mower engine, you must drive the tractor onto the Island Ferry deck to cross the water safely. Once ashore, players can mow around the coastal lighthouse, relax at the beach bar and hammock, crack coconuts, and pilot the lake boat.
